Fridley Warrant Checks
Four channels answer a Fridley warrant question, and only two can confirm something official. Try them in order.
- Read the notice and write down the citation number and any MNCIS case number.
- Call Fridley Public Safety at 763-572-3629 for the report or local record behind the case.
- Check the case in Minnesota Court Records Online or at a courthouse public terminal.
- Search the county's active warrant list for an active district court arrest warrant.
- Call the Warrants Unit at 763-422-7500 if you are the person named on the case.
Call Criminal Court at 763-760-6600 about missed Fridley dates.
Fridley Public Safety Is Not the Court Record
Fridley Public Safety answers calls around the clock. It handles the city's police work, but it never holds the court file. It issues no warrant. It recalls none either. That split shapes the paperwork. A police report records what the officer saw, while a court case holds the charge and the court's orders, and when the two disagree about status the court file controls. Note: Ask the police for the report and the court for the case, since neither Fridley office keeps the other's record.
Policing and Courts in Fridley
A Fridley warrant question spans two offices and two cities.
Fridley Public Safety

The Fridley Police Data Request Rules
Fridley sets its own rules for police report and data requests. Court requests work differently. Public reports can be picked up at the counter during office hours or requested by mail. Payment comes first, with checks made out to the City of Fridley. Large requests and photographs may take a deposit and extra processing time. Body camera video is released only after in-person identification. Those rules come from the city's data request page, and they cover police records alone. Note: A police data request is not a warrant check, and no fee paid to Fridley changes a court status.
Warrants in Fridley: The Main Types
The court acts, then a Fridley case gets its label. Four labels exist, each with its own consequence, and the case record shows which one applies.
| Warrant Type | How It Arises | Who Issues It |
|---|---|---|
| Arrest warrant | A charge filed after a Fridley police investigation | Anoka County District Court judge |
| Failure-to-appear warrant | A missed criminal date or an unanswered summons | Anoka County District Court judge |
| Sign-and-release warrant | A qualifying first failure after a mailed summons | Anoka County District Court judge |
| Traffic warrant | An unanswered Fridley citation past the deadline | Anoka County District Court judge |
Fridley Citations and Remote Hearing Officers
Remote hearing officer appointments reach nine Anoka County cities on a statewide list, and Fridley is one of them. The option fits an eligible payable citation. In practice that means a VB case that has not moved past the penalty stage. Deadlines matter here. Miss one, and the fine page adds a $5 penalty after 30 days. Another $25 follows after the next 30 days. A warrant becomes possible. The hearing-officer request and the warrant process are separate problems in separate offices. A $50 monthly payment plan may be open for a first payable citation with no prior appearance and no second late penalty.
Fridley Warrant Records: What They Show
The warrant entry sits inside the court case. Its identifiers and its issuing authority belong to the court in a Fridley case, not the city.
| Case Number | The MNCIS case number, in the CR or VB family, for example 02-CR-25-0000 |
|---|---|
| Citation Number | The number from the Fridley citation |
| Offense | The charge as filed with the court |
| Issuing Court | Anoka County District Court |
| Bond or Conditions | Set for that case, with no published city schedule |
| Status | Active, served, recalled, or resolved |
Fridley Dispatch and the County Warrant Line
Fridley sends its 9-1-1 calls through the county system for emergencies and non-emergencies alike. Callers outside Anoka County get 763-427-1212. Dispatch sends an officer. It does not read case status. It quotes no bail figures either. The warrant line at 763-422-7500 does the opposite job, handling status and confirmation without sending anyone to a scene, so use each number for what it was published to do. Note: If someone in Fridley is in danger or a crime is under way, call 9-1-1 rather than any records or warrant line.
Fridley Warrants and Anoka County
Fridley is one of 21 cities and townships. The county sheriff serves all of them. Its criminal and traffic cases file into the courthouse on 3rd Avenue in Anoka, so a warrant on a Fridley case is a county court warrant.
Warrant flow: Fridley Public Safety › Anoka County District Court › Sheriff Warrants Unit
County-wide steps, records rules, and the subject-only confirmation policy sit on the Anoka County warrant records home page. Fridley cases follow all of them.
Checking a Fridley Warrant in the County System
Court record and county search answer different questions. Use both. A case record shows the charge, the scheduled dates, and whether a date was missed in a Fridley matter. The county search shows whether an active arrest warrant is published for an Anoka District Court case. Neither is final alone. The search skips other jurisdictions. It also leaves out any warrant status already served, recalled, or resolved, so a blank Fridley result means only that the tool returned nothing at that moment.
Accessing Fridley Warrant Records
Fridley follows state access rules. So does every other Anoka County city, and statute governs both the police file and the court file with the same limits on each.
Key rules:
Minn. Stat. 13.03 presumes government data are public and allows inspection without a fee.
Minn. Stat. 13.82 governs adult arrest and citation data, including the protections it lists.
Minn. Stat. 260B.171 keeps juvenile records closed except where the statute provides access.
What Sign-and-Release Means for a Fridley Case
A Fridley citation that leads to an eligible first failure after a mailed summons can become a sign-and-release warrant under Minn. Stat. 629.415. That process authorizes no arrest. It requires no bail. Instead, the officer hands over written notice of a new appearance date, and the warrant is inactivated as soon as practical. Keep that notice. Confirm the date in the case record. Other failures can still produce an arrest-authorizing warrant with bail or conditions, so appear and ask the court which kind of process your Fridley case carries.
